AT FIRST LIGHT

AT FIRST LIGHT is a progressive extreme metal band whose members perform under the names Mother War, Xeper, Sarin, Eidolon and Abattoir. The group describes its music as rooted in extreme metal while allowing for varied individual influences and collaborative writing; its debut full-length, Subaltern Obsequy, was developed over six years. The album frames historical horror stories set before and during World War II through a concept about humanity's capacity for destruction and the possibility of a “Great Filter.” The band announced the album for December 12, 2026, and introduced it with the digital single “Still Life.”
