About

Deciduous Forest

Deciduous Forest moves between atmospheric black metal's raw edge and the quieter pull of neofolk. Brisbane multi-instrumentalist Snjór builds expansive passages from layered guitars, keyboards and ambient textures before harsh vocals and distorted riffs cut through the calm. Melancholy melodies and acoustic sections give the arrangements room to shift between reflection and heavier crescendos. Blackgaze influences broaden the sound without losing its black metal foundation. Memory, regret and loss run through the project's music.
