About

Foul Body Autopsy

Sharp guitar riffs and mournful lead melodies drive Foul Body Autopsy's melodic death metal. Leicester musician Tom Reynolds built the project around his own guitars, vocals and programmed drums, moving from early death metal and grindcore aggression toward more melodic, atmospheric songwriting. Harsh vocals sit beside intricate guitar lines, with keyboards and electronic remixes appearing in later work. The music shifts between fast, compact attacks and reflective passages, while its lyrics explore apocalyptic fiction, social criticism, grief and personal struggles.

History

Foul Body Autopsy is a British solo metal project founded by Tom Reynolds in Leicester in May 2010. Initially rooted in death metal and grindcore, the project developed a more melodic sound while retaining its aggressive guitar-driven foundation. Reynolds released the self-titled debut album on September 29, 2013, followed by several shorter recordings, including So Close to Complete Dehumanization in 2014 and Perpetuated By Greed in 2016. The second full-length album, This Machine Kills Zombies, arrived on March 24, 2018. Inspired by George A. Romero's zombie films, it explored a fictional apocalypse alongside contemporary social concerns. The Unquiet Dead followed in March 2019, continuing that post-apocalyptic narrative. Reynolds subsequently moved toward more personal subject matter with Consumed By Black Thoughts in 2020 and the three-part Shadows Without Light series released between 2021 and 2022. Later releases included Crucifix Dreams in October 2023 and The Discovery of Witches in October 2024. The latter drew on historical witch persecution and featured guest musicians alongside Reynolds. In November 2026, Foul Body Autopsy announced the independently released EP Between The Worlds We Made, scheduled for November 27, continuing the project's exploration of grief, emotional hardship and melodic death metal.

Between The Worlds We Made is a two-track melodic death metal EP by Foul Body Autopsy, scheduled for independent release on November 27, 2026. Written by Tom Reynolds, the record explores absence, grief, heartbreak and an uncertain future. The title track sets tightly controlled guitar riffs against a melodic chorus and a melancholic instrumental passage. The Language of Ruins follows with reflective melodies and more aggressive sections, developing the emotional contrast at the centre of the recording. Reynolds performs guitars and vocals alongside programmed bass, drums and keyboards, with additional keyboard programming by Russ Russell. Russell handled production and engineering, while Stephen Kerrison is also credited with mastering. The artwork was created by Arif Rot. The EP is available for pre-order in digital and limited vinyl formats.
