King's Hammer drive death metal through thick, riff-first grooves, rapid double-kick drumming and Chuck Weatherman's harsh vocals. Working alone in the studio, Weatherman stacks heavy rhythm guitars against bursts of speed, drawing on the old-school attack of Suffocation, Entombed, Hate Eternal and Cryptopsy. The music is physical and confrontational, but its lyrics turn toward Christian faith, personal struggle and redemption. The early material carries a rougher edge, while later recordings introduce greater clarity without sacrificing the aggression.
