About
Mnemocide
Mnemocide make death metal move on thick, groove-heavy riffs and blunt, driving drums. The Basel sextet keeps its guitars tight around Matthias's deep vocals, with backing voices and sampled textures adding another layer to the attack. Their songs balance muscular rhythms with flashes of melody rather than relying on speed alone. War, propaganda and collective memory sit at the centre of their writing, giving the aggression a clear target. The result is direct, rhythmic death metal shaped by musicians with a long shared history.

History
Mnemocide formed in Basel, Switzerland, in 2017, bringing together experienced musicians who had previously worked together in other bands. The group established a groove-driven death metal sound, building its identity around heavy riffs, aggressive vocals and lyrics confronting war, violence and humanity's failure to learn from history. After performing their first shows, Mnemocide entered Iguana Studios in 2018 to record their independently released debut EP, Debris, which arrived on August 18 that year. Their first full-length album, Feeding the Vultures, followed on May 15, 2020 through Czar of Crickets Productions. The album examined indoctrination, warfare and the cycle of destruction through a connected lyrical narrative. The band's lineup subsequently developed into a six-piece, with samples and backing vocals becoming part of its wider musical approach. Mnemocide continued performing across Switzerland, appearing at events including BScene, Freakout Festival and Meh Suff. In April 2026, the band announced a partnership with Fetzner Death Records for their second studio album, Kingdom of Filth, scheduled for January 9, 2027. The album continues their collaboration with producer Christoph Brandes at Iguana Studios.
Kingdom of Filth is the second studio album from Swiss death metal band Mnemocide, scheduled for January 9, 2027 through Fetzner Death Records. The ten-track record develops the band's groove-driven sound through heavy guitar riffs, forceful drumming, deep vocals and occasional melodic passages. Its lyrics examine deception, propaganda and the influence of greed, hatred and social corruption. Death March was released ahead of the album as a digital single with an accompanying lyric video. Christoph Brandes recorded, mixed and mastered the album at Iguana Studio in Germany. Band member Daroc created the artwork. Kingdom of Filth is planned for digital, CD, cassette and vinyl formats, with catalogue number FDR077.
