Somnent are a melodic doom/death metal band from Orlando, Florida, formed in 2015 by multi-instrumentalist Giovanni Antonio Vigliotti. Their music combines heavy, measured chords with melancholy, intimacy and emotional openness. The band’s third full-length album, Heirloom, was created between 2022 and 2026 and reflects on grief, painful family experiences, childhood wounds and the process of releasing inherited burdens. The lineup includes Vigliotti on vocals and guitar, Shane Dohmen on bass and Alejandro Acuña on drums, with guest contributions from Natalia Drepina, Dust Of Reason, Jari Lindholm and Julian Lefler.
